The Sheet-Less LGP does not rely on additional optical sheets, allowing the removal of components such as the diffuser film and V-prism and H-prism sheets, which were essential parts of the backlight unit (BLU). As a result, it enables cost reduction, weight reduction, and decreased thickness. The Sheet-Less LGP demonstrates a wide horizontal viewing angle. Traditional backlight units that rely on optical sheets have a limited viewing angle, resulting in dependence on the LC panel's viewing angle and making it difficult to achieve a wide optical viewing angle. In contrast, the MEMSLUX Sheet-Less LGP does not depend on the LC panel.
