High Performance Light Guide Plate

The High-Performance Light Guide Plate (LGP) is a core component in modern display technology

playing a critical role in enabling thinner and lighter display designs. Light guide plates are engineered to work in combination with various optical components—such as LEDs, reflectors, prism sheets, and diffuser films—to efficiently control and distribute light.

MEMSLUX’s High-Performance LGP differs from conventional LGPs by precisely engineering the light emission angle within a single plate, eliminating the need for excessive optical layers. This allows for optimized optical efficiency depending on the combination of prism sheets, diffuser films, and other optical elements. Powered by optical simulation-based pattern design and precision manufacturing technology, MEMSLUX has established a quantitative engineering system that ensures the designed optical performance is faithfully realized in the final product. As a result, our High-Performance LGP delivers exceptional light efficiency and system flexibility across various environments, making it a highly optimized solution for the next-generation displays where slimness and lightweight design are essential.

Conventional LGP

               Measured Light Distribution

Conventional Pattern with No Emission Angle Engineering
• Uses simple diffusion patterns without designed emission angles.

•  Limited light distribution focusing on low angles.
• Shows performance limits even with various optical film combinations.

MEMSLUX High Performance LGP

               Measured Light Distribution

Single LGP for Wide Viewing Angle
• Achieves wide viewing angles through precision light emission angle engineering, without additional optical films.
• Reduces the number of films with a single LGP structure.
• Ideal for applications requiring wide viewing angles.

              Measured Light Distribution

LGP + V-Prism (1 Film)
• Applies only one V-Prism film to a single LGP.
• Reduces the total number of sheets, contributing to lighter weight and cost reduction.
• Enhances visibility with focused vertical light distribution.

          Measured Light Distribution

Diffuser + Prism (2 Films)
• Combination of 2 prism films and a diffuser film achieves maximum light efficiency and uniformity.
• Suitable for high-brightness, high-uniformity requirements.
• Maximizes system design flexibility.
